Sachin Tendulkar is a former Indian cricketer, widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. He was born on April 24, 1973, in Mumbai, India.
Tendulkar made his debut for the Indian cricket team at the age of 16 in November 1989, and went on to represent India for over two decades. He retired from international cricket in November 2013, having played 200 Test matches and 463 One Day Internationals (ODIs).
Tendulkar's international career saw him score 15,921 runs in Tests, at an average of 53.78, and 18,426 runs in ODIs, at an average of 44.83. He also scored 100 international centuries, a record that is yet to be broken. He played a pivotal role in India's victory in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.
Tendulkar was honored with several awards and recognitions during his career, including the Arjuna Award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, Padma Shri, and Padma Vibhushan. In 2012, he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian parliament.
After retirement, Tendulkar has been involved in various philanthropic activities, including the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation, which aims to provide education and healthcare to underprivileged children in India. He has also been a mentor and coach to the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
